Joseph Buska, Sr., Founder

1939 - 1973

Joseph Buska, Sr. founded Buska Insurance in 1939 and started selling auto insurance out of his home. Auto insurance was a new idea and all other types of insurance were not really accepted by the public but needed to be sold. Joseph continued selling insurance until he retired from the business in the early 1970's and sold the agency to his son, Joseph Buska, Jr.

Joseph Buska, Jr., CEO

Joe joined his father's agency in 1957 and sold all types of insurance including auto, home, life and health. In 1973 he purchased the agency from his father and continued working in the insurance industry as well as the real estate field.

He is a life long resident of Kronenwetter and enjoys traveling, spending time with his wife, Annabelle, children and grandchildren.

Sandra Straub, President

Sandy is the daughter of Joseph Buska, Jr. and started working as the bookkeeper for the agency in 1988. She currently is a licensed property and casualty agent and works with John in the Commercial Lines Department.

She enjoys playing badminton with her husband, Joel and twin boys, playing mini-golf and taking family trips to Wisconsin Dells.

Cynthia Newman, Vice-President

Cindy is the daughter of Joseph Buska, Jr. and joined the agency in 1980 working in the claims department. She received her property and casualty license in 1982 and has been working in the personal lines department since 1986. She specializes in home, auto and umbrella insurance. She also sells life and health insurance.

In her spare time Cindy enjoys being with her family, husband Gary, two sons and two daughters and attending their sporting events.

John R. Kasmerchak, Agent

Commercial Lines, Life, Health 

John has been with the agency since 1990 and is a licensed agent specializing in Commercial Insurance. He also sells farm, life and health insurance.

John is active in various sports, and enjoys spending time with his family and volunteering for his church and his son's school. During the summer you can see him working at the Gus Macker.

Charlene R. Carstensen, Agent

Personal Lines 

Charlene joined the agency in June of 1999 and is a licensed property and casualty agent. She enjoys working with her customers and helping them make informed decisions on their insurance coverage.

In her spare time, Char enjoys reading, sewing and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Sandra V. Barden, Receptionist

Sandy is the receptionist and has been with the agency since 1996.

She and her husband are avid Packer fans and enjoy getting together with family and friends. Her other hobbies include bowling, golfing and watching the races.
